The TalkingCock forum is a free-for-all message board.
We do not and will not actively police postings.
Anyway, as an Internet content service provider with
only a skeletal volunteer membership, we cannot
possibly be responsible for all things people post in
a public forum.
However, the Gahmen has laid out some guidelines when
it comes to political statements. In Parliament in
August 2001, the Hon. Mr. Wong Kan Seng, Minister for
Home Affairs, said this about us, "Today
(TalkingCock.com) is not registered as a political
site, not that I know of. So it is not covered (under
the SBA Regulations). But should it be involved in
political discussions, should it be involved in the
way that Think Centre has been involved, then we will
consider including it as a political site. That is my

In a related statement, the Minister for Information
and The Arts, the Hon. Mr. Lee Yock Suan, said that
there is a 'grey area' between political websites and
individual websites promoting certain viewpoints.
So in Singapore, it is not clear at all what makes a
statement or action 'political' and consequently, we
have no idea where we as a satirical humour site fall
into. If you find out where the OB markers are,
please let us know.
We believe we are clearly not political, in that we do
not promote or endorse any particular political agenda
or political party. The postings certainly will not
and do not reflect the interests, opinions, positions
or whatever of TalkingCock.com.
So please, DON'T SABO US. No flaming, rabid, party or
partisan political messages or postings. While we
won't actively police the forum (who got time?), we
will remove any anything that we deem unacceptable in
our absolute discretion, and/or on receipt of any
formal complaint. In so doing, we may even err on the
side of being a little more kiasu than usual. Sorry,
hor, but our wings could get clipped.
Hope you understand. Not our fault. Sorry for being
so chicken, but what do you expect of a site with our
name?
