I do believe Singaporeans are NOT QUITTING on their own motherland. The main reason why people choose to go is becoz' of SURVIVING in this planet. Our government only gives labels. They didn't reflect on themselves compares to others countries. We don't have social benefits, unemployment benefits,...etc. All we have right now, are more increasing of prices in buses, gst...etc. Why are they all doing it @ this difficult times? They are just pushing alot of their army away from them.
Anyway, I feel that they shld focus more what they can help to revives Singapore rather than sitting there talking cock plus giving other people labels.

I don't think "quitting" is the right term to use here...it's more of survival of the foetus...
It's not that just because we leave our Motherland, means we have given up hopes on it. The reason we leave is coz we want better things in life or rather better opportunities. If what is given to us is not up to our satisfaction or perhaps not to our self attainment level, we move on...seek other sources. When we hear of our own people making it big overseas, we feel proud don't we? And the natural instinct would be..."ah, tht person's a Singaporean..." So, Singapore should be positive about its citizens moving off somewhere; coz ultimately, they want to be proud of themselves as well as making the nation proud! Thinking that local talents have fled and that it was a waste to have spent so much on these people's education, is an utter shallow way of thinking...

Why quit? Simple reasons:
1. Stupid policies like "Graduate Father and Graduate Mother" give birth to smart kid. Dunno which fella with cow sense said that.
2. Standard copy and paste replies when you write in to government agencies asking for explanations. Best thing is, they give very vague answers (no firm yes or no) and in many cases, don't answer your questions at all. Wonder what the government is doing paying all those cock scholars to do this kind of work?
3. Pay $350,000 for a flat and they call it subsidised housing. Pay COE for your right to own a car.
4. Singaporean students (especially graduates) are laden with bloody debts and loans once out of school. Tuition fee loan, expenses for wedding, HDB flat loan, renovation loan etc.
For goodness sake, people don't just leave the country because they "quit". Damn it, it's a question of survival. So quitters from other countries are welcomed here as "expats" and "foreign talent"? Sheesh, if that's the case, I rather quit than stay with this no sense gahmen.
